RV Travel - Great Trip Through Connecticut

February 15, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 131

Rich beautiful terrains and dainty villages are scattered throughout this colorful and complex state. The East Coast culture resonates in every nook and cranny, setting up Connecticut as a significant place for a vacation. Here, you'll stumble upon the bypast era of whaling (even though the state has no direct entrance to the sea) Gothic buildings reaching for the sky and numerous chances for a wealth of activities regardless of what time of year you pay a visit.

Bozrah Start your RV exploration of Connecticut in Bozrah, set in the scenic Mystic Country, where vacationers from across the globe come to take advantage of a romantic getaway or the countless chances for world-class gaming. For the RV traveler, Bozrah is the ideal headquarters to enjoy the surrounding area. For the angler, you'll recognize more than a few ventures for great fishing at Fitchville Pond or from the banks of the Yantic River. If you're looking for something a little offbeat, pay a visit to the Six Paca Farm, one of the finest breeders of Alpacas in New England. You can get up close and personal with the warm and special creatures and catch a peek into the extraordinary field of Alpaca breeding. At the gift shop, you'll find a variety of handmade Alpaca materials, from rugs and clothing to accessories. Think wool is comfortable? There are few things as comfortable as putting on a pair of Alpaca socks!

Norwich Moving forward, make your way to CT-2 heading east toward Norwich. Jump onto I-395 heading south, exiting onto CT-82 toward Norwich. Packed with interesting history and excellent atmosphere, Norwich is a good spot to dispose off your troubles and indulge in a hike along the Heritage Riverfront Walkway. The trail takes hikers from the Harbor to Indian Leap at Yantic Falls. The falls are amazing, and have to be seen to be appreciated. Spend a little time in this region, and you'll soon discover Connecticut is filled with magnificent natural delights and spectacular beauty. Trek to Historic Norwich and you'll get a look into the city's past in many of the 17th and 18th century architecture. Head to the Slater Memorial Museum and wonder at the wealth of attractive art housed in a beautiful Romanesque Revival-style building. The art collections here present a diverse assortment of pieces from the cultures of the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. The Slater Museum is a remarkable spot and shouldn't be omitted on a trip to the region. An additional attraction is the Leffingwell House Museum, built in the 1600s. It is the former residence of the Provisioner to George Washington and is a fine example of early colonial architecture. In fact, this is the site of the first papermill in Connecticut, and the site of the chocolate processing and stocking mill. Inside the museum, you'll discover a stunning demonstration of fine silver from a nearby silversmith as well as children's toys throughout the historic home.
