Onsite Vs Mobile Caravans For Sale

June 13, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 189

When it comes to sifting through the various caravans for sale, trying to find the perfect one for your family's needs, one of the decisions that you will have to make early on in the process is whether to buy an onsite or a mobile van. Whilst both types for their advantages and disadvantages, it is important to thoroughly compare the two with your family situation in order to determine whether you are making the right choice or not. So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of onsite and mobile caravans?

Advantages of Onsite Caravans for Sale

· They are much larger in size, often with separate bedrooms, living areas and bathrooms. Their larger size means that tables do not have to be folded down to make beds, and everyone is given their own space.

· At times of the year when you are not planning on staying in your caravan, you can rent it out to other people (friends, family or even strangers). The extra income could be enough to cover any fees.

· Wherever you have purchased this caravan is where it must stay; you cannot move it to another location (or, if you do, you'll need to tow it there). This severely limits your choice of holiday destinations.

· You will have to pay annual site fees to the caravan park that is storing your van; you may only use it three or four times a year, but you'll be out of pocket hundreds of dollars each year.

Advantages of Mobile Caravans for Sale

· You can holiday wherever the road may take you. This is probably the best thing about mobile caravans - you can take them with you no matter where you go. The beach, the country, the desert - the choice is yours!

· These caravans are often much cheaper to purchase, as there is a much wider variety and they are easier to find. You also have the luxury of being able to purchase online (through auction sites like eBay) or to visit a local dealer.

· Some mobile caravans can have quite small interiors and many don't have a bathroom. This means that, in order to go to bed at night or to have a shower, you will need to fold down your dining table or venture to the facilities provided by the park.

· You have to pay registration and insurance fees in order to legally tow your caravan on the road. Whilst insurance isn't an absolute must, there is always the chance that you will get into an accident. And, without registration, if the police pull you over you'll be in for a hefty fine.

As you can see, there are a number of advantages and disadvantages associated with both onsite and mobile caravans for sale. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to determining which one is better, as it will differ from person to person, family to family. The best way to make your decision is to weigh up the pros against the cons.
