Invest in a Portable Propane Heater

April 12, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 96

It's an unfortunate fact that we don't have access to electricity everywhere we go. We, as humans, enjoy a great many activities which occasionally take us away from modern conveniences such as an electrical supply. Some of the places we go can be very cold depending on the time of year we decide to go. We need to ask the question of how it's possible to stay warm so we can continue these various activities with some moderate amount of comfort. One way of solving this dilemma might be through the use of portable propane heaters. Portable propane heather come in a variety of sizes and cater to a wide range of applications from large functions to the hiker trekking through the mountains. For the camping family sizes are available that are just perfect for the average family sized tent. Just make sure you know the size of the area you are going to be heating before purchasing. From there you can select the correct level of BTUs that you need to keep the area adequately heated.

Safety is paramount when you have any kind of heater operating in the area. Always place your gas heater on a flat surface that is not sloping. The instruction manual has everything you need to know in regards to safety so make sure you read it. It pays to get a unit that is CSA approved so you know it is built to a particular standard. Look for propane heaters that switch off when tipped over. Children will always manage to tip something over that is not supposed to be despite your best intentions.

A few propane heaters around the house can come in handy even if you don't enjoy the odd camping trip. If your power goes out you have a ready source of heating. An excellent accessory to have in your RV in an emergency you can grab your little portable propane heater from the cupboard and use it to keep warm while you change a tire.

Three major designs make up the portable propane heater range. You have forced air propane heaters and convection heaters which are usually the bigger variety that are used to heat large areas during a function or special event. For heat generation these units usually measure in the tens of thousands of BTUs. Radiant heaters are smaller, more portable and produce less heat. These are what you will find in people's homes, tents and caravans.

Camping portable heaters are designed for small areas and can run for hours on one tank.
