Camping can be a great way to make sure your family has had an amazing holiday without breaking the bank. For many reasons it can't always be possible to take your family abroad and with some amazing places in this country it would be a shame to completely disregard staying in England. You may have young children which you do not want to take on a long flight or you may find that you don't have the funds to be able to pay for a family holiday abroad. Whether you're new to camping or have been a dab hand at it for many years the following article has been written for you. I've written a few simple yet very important things to consider when you're looking to go away camping.

Firstly you need to either know your budget or add up what you think the holiday will cost you and work out whether you can afford it. Don't forget to include the following 1. Camping fees 2. Petrol 3. Food and drink 4. Spending money

Take into consideration how far away you're thinking of travelling and whether you can afford the petrol costs. In addition to this don't forget it's little things such as ice creams for everyone in the family who increases the cost of the trip a lot.

Don't forget to look into the facilities of the site you're wishing to stay at and not just the price or location. Make sure they don't expect you to go to the toilet in the woods and if they do have portable toilets rather than static that they're clean. Often portable toilets can get very dirty and it cannot be pleasant for families to take small children. Some campsites will sort out toilet hire and then forget about ever cleaning them. If you've got small children make sure you're not too close to a road or river where your children are likely to hurt themselves.

In addition to this it's worthwhile making sure you've got break down cover. On long car journeys there is a risk that you may break down and in an unfamiliar area of the country it can really ruin your holiday so make sure you're always covered so that you can continue with your holiday without much worry.

It's worth appreciating that you don't just pay for the pitch fee at the site and you'll often be expected to pay per person and dog on top of that so make sure you add up all your costs correctly before agreeing to go.
