Interested in a Grand Canyon Bus Trip? Here's Some Helpful Information!

Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most spectacular areas in the entire United States. It encompasses an immense, 277-mile long canyon which is known throughout the world for its colorful landscapes as well as its sheer size.

Unless you know your way around or you're on a Grand Canyon bus trip, you might have trouble finding the best places to view the beautiful scenery. So, if you're interested in a scenic, cost-effective way to see this magnificent place, you should consider taking a Grand Canyon motor coach ride.

The Grand Canyon, carved out of rock by the Colorado River over millions of years, is one of the world's top tourist attractions because of its unique formations and magnificent views. Many travelers enjoy watching the sun set over the canyon's rim or hiking along the South Rim's Bright Angel Trail. Some also participate in rafting trips down the Colorado River.

Most Grand Canyon bus trips travel to one of two main locations - the West Rim or the South Rim. The round trip to the South Rim takes a full day, so most of these bus tours start at sunrise. Most tour operators offer a convenient pickup and drop-off service for passengers staying at the Las Vegas Strip hotels.

South Rim bus tours focus on the Yavapai, Mather and Yaki lookout points. Each one of these observation points offers different but remarkable views. A South Rim motor coach ride will also stop at historic Grand Canyon Village so its passengers can visit the museums, shops, galleries and restaurants located there. Set aside an entire day, because most South Rim bus tours leave Las Vegas at 7:30 a.m. and return around 9:00 p.m.

A West Rim Grand Canyon bus trip begins with a 2 ½ hour drive from Las Vegas. You'll see the stunning Lake Mead and Hoover Dam along the way. Choose a tour with an itinerary that stops at the Hualapai Indian Village in addition to Guano and Eagle Points. The village features Native American dwellings and an outdoor amphitheater, and it's something you'll want to see.

Tour companies offer different packages, and each one delivers a different experience. The most comprehensive package includes a helicopter ride to the floor of the canyon, a boat ride down the Colorado, and an unlimited pass to the amazing Grand Canyon Skywalk. A tour like this will let you experience almost everything the canyon has to offer.

Other tours are also possible. For example, most tour companies offer custom trips for an extra charge. Because seating is limited, these trips offer a more personal experience. Although they don't last as long as a typical South Rim motor coach ride, the included meals are better and you'll have unrestricted access to your tour guides. Overall, your experience will be even more impressive than the more typical type of bus tour. Book your tour at least two weeks in advance, especially if you'll be traveling in a group.

You can look for tour operators on the Internet if you're interested in a Grand Canyon bus tour. You can even book and pay for your tour online. Most companies have tour packages that include meals and other extras. Just make sure you reserve your seats early - that way you'll be able to enjoy the tour that interests you most.
