March 30, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 144

A professional boxer is not born in a day, he needs to work out and build muscles and strengthen the body to equip him. Punching bags are an essential boxing accessory that plays a crucial role in a professional boxer's practice sessions. A Being a great tool for fitness strength training the bags are not only used in boxer's training sessions but also in gyms to work out, carry physical exercises and much more. Predominantly used in boxing sessions to improve a boxer's ability, stamina, power, punching technique and strength, these bags play a vital role. Typically boxers and other athletes move around these punching bags swiftly, punching them as hard as possible which allows them to build their physical strength and stamina. This is how these punching bags improve your strength.

It starts by hitting the bags which is an outstanding physical exercise anyone could ever get. As the boxer moves swiftly around the bag punching it for several hours, it improves his strength. This technique also allows him to build the qualities like endurance and fitness as you duck, sway, move away and block the swinging bag for hours to build your reflexes and endurance.

Apart from improving physical fitness this also help to improve your cardio health

Firstly stand in a place and throw standing in one place and throwing one shot a second for a full minute. That single shot should be quick enough to make a popping sound upon bag. This should not be a strong punch like the cross; the jab is only meant to stun your opponent and set up future punches. After a full minute of jabs, rest and try it for two minutes, and then try moving around the bag for a minute while punching approximately once every second for a minute. You will notice that you are start to sweat pretty fast and simple normally overlooked actions such as minuscule jabs can be quite taxing and give you quite the workout. Try a one minute session standing still for warming up, followed by a two minute session with circle movement around the bag. Then rest a minute and repeat this task.

For the strength aspect you should first throw two jabs; one across and one circling the bag. The cross should be a very strong punch where you use your whole body weight to strike the bag you should pivot off your opposite foot, your left foot, while the first shot. Try two sessions of three minutes each, landing strong solid punches while you keep circling the bag. We are seeking for strength so try to really push through all of your punches.

Finally you find that you have used much more energy than you would use while you run. So for the sake of your physical strength and stamina you can opt for a heavy bags or double end bags according to your preferences.
