Laser Alignment Bowling App Needed

You name it, there is an app for that, or so the saying goes. The other day, I was perusing the Apple App Store, and the Android app directory for various apps for bowling. It is amazing how many there are, apps which will help you keep track of your average, help keep track of your entire team, or even help keep track of an entire tournament. It's just incredible really, and I think it's the coolest thing since LED lighting in bowling alleys.

Yes, it is summertime, and bowling is a great sport for the summer because you can do it in the air-conditioner. However, there is one app that I would like to see which does not exist yet, but it quite easily could, considering the new technology. In fact all the technology already exists, it would just be a matter of adapting an iPhone 4 or one of the latest android smart phones to make it happen.

Now then, I propose a laser alignment bowling app, which would help a bowler strategize on how they plan to throw the ball, and where they hope to hit the pins with the greatest chances of knocking them all down. After all, that is the goal in bowling. Now then, here's how it should work.

1. The bowler would use the digital camera to take a picture of what they see from their perspective, just prior to releasing the ball, at the same height as their eyes would be.

2. The app would then make mathematical equations to determine the best way to release the ball, and the direction it should travel when the bowler bowls next.

3. The app would then play a simulated bowling ball within the digital picture, so the bowler could see in advance what it's going to look like when they knock down all the pins. This would induce a psychological phenomenon called "psychocybernetics" which would allow them to believe by seeing or imagining in advance of actually bowling the ball.

4. The app would also offer advice on percentages and types of shots based on proven bowling techniques as well as that individual's own averages, and skills, based on that type of shot, which it also keeps track of.

5. There would be an extra piece of computer hardware, a peripheral laser pointer, the kind that are used in construction for leveling.

This would be very similar to the digital avatar caddies now used in golfing apps for various courses, suggesting strategies. This would be an awesome new technology for the bowling community. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think about it.
