The purpose of this book is to introduce you to blogging and show how recent developments can help you reach your personal and/or professional goals.

The author recommends that you read the entire book before you start to set up your blog and you should make notes of important information provided through out this book. It is the author's opinion that a blog's greatest advantage over a website is that it is people-focused and less formal than most websites. He provides several websites to host your blog in his introduction.

Chapter one addresses the question, why do you want a blog. The author identifies and discusses the many advantages to using a blog. He hightlights the importance of sharing things in common; the low cost of a blog; and how easy it is to set up a blog.

Chapter two focuses on how to keep your information safe. There are suggestions on how to handle sypware programs, how to retrieve information if your disk crash; what are reputable antivirus and anti-spy ware programs. There is a section in the chapter devoted to protecting your usernames and passwords. The author provides a website, strategies and suggestions.

The next chapter provides important and useful tips for blogging; such as visiting other blogs; limit your research time; only state facts; support blogs who supply free products; always be respectful; and how to enjoy your blog.

Chapter four discusses how to set up a blog in either WordPress or Blogger. This chapter provide information on both and compares and contrasts the advantage and disadvantage to both. Here the read will find links to both websites.

Chapter four is followed by a full chapter on starting with blogger. It identifies requirements and costs; how to open a new window in your web browser to reach the "blogger" website. The author has included visual aids of the website and step by step directions on how to create a Google account, how to create your password; create your display name; the importance of word verification; and acceptance of the terms of use.

The next chapter focuses solely on naming and hosting your blog on Blogger. Again the author provides detail step by step instructions; and how to use the advanced blog setup function on Blogger with links. Using a Blogger blog on your own web space it the topic for the following chapter. Here the author provides suggestions, detailed instructions for FTP access to transfer your blog to your website.

Selecting a design for your Blogger blog which the author reports is very enjoyable. There is information on choosing one of the Blogger's professionally prepared designs; how to choose templates and what to expect; and detailed instructions.

This section focuses on how to posting to your Blogger blog using a editor in your Blogger account; how to login in and maneuver the website; how to sending posts to your Blogger blog by email; and how to save your settings. The author, again, provide visual aids of the website to increase your familiarity of the website.

The author has dedicated a section on setting up your Blogger Mobile blog. This innovative, service from Blogger can feed posts and include pictures from any device capable of text messaging. There are step by step instructions on how to set up your new mobile blog; enhance your blog posts; add pictures to your post; how to add a video to your blog post; and how to personalize your blog's layout.

The next chapter focuses on making your blog a community RSS feed. The author provides a website to set up the feed; the importance of having visitors make comments; who can comment and how; how to keep comments relevant and/or in moderation; how to remove comments; and how Blogger reduces comment spam.

The following chapter focuses on how to develop and post your profile; how to add your photo to your profile; protect your privacy; how to edit your profile; and the advantages to using different display mans and profiles.

Part two is dedicated to starting to blog with WordPress. The author provides the website link; visual adds to assist in familiarizing the user; how to make a WordPress blog on your own website; the advantages to letting Fantastico set up your WordPress blog; how to set up WordPress blog by yourself; how to set up your WordPress files; and using your FTP program to transfer the files; setting up your blog; how to install WordPress; the importance of the security note; how to get started with your dashboard; how to make a post; how to keep in touch with your blog's readers; how to use themes in your blog; and how to use and set up plugins.

The final pages list various websites and their links.
