There are a lot of authors who have written some books but have not published it yet to the market. Yes, all authors face that same problem. Now, that problem is easily answered by getting the help of a publicist.

  • Who are the publicists you could trust?
  • What are the risks you face when you hire a publicist?
  • And lastly, what are your advantages when you hire one?

Remember a publicist job is to promote your book or your work. He's the one person who cares about your book as much as you do. They focus primarily on how much publicity you want to have within your own neighbourhood or to the whole wide world. To an author, a publicist can help reach out to their own contacts or to particular national media, provided the topic or title is within the genre or criteria they are looking for.

When you are determined that you need to hire a publicist, you can have one hourly or per project basis. It depends on how much you could spend to attain the publicity you want to have for your work. Are you willing to spend for a publicist a lot of money so they can get media hits in major newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal? Then you might consider a pay-per-placement firm. It all depends on how much you really want to spend.

There are a lot of legitimate publicists and that are known by a lot of authors who have made a name by themselves. There are also small ones for aspiring authors that are just starting. The main thought is know the background of the publicist before you trust one, for there are a lot of authors who are unlucky for they went to bankruptcy due to scams of opportunistic entities.

Then, whenever you hire a publicist, the only risk that you face is the success of the project. Whenever you invest, you will always face the risk of having a failed transactions and business that went unwell. To prevent this, know the plans of the publicist. Secure and check the expenses that you had made and make sure that you have a publicist who is well experienced.

Lastly, the key advantage when you hire a publicist is the success of the publicity that you could attain for your work. With the desired exposure, one can easily market and distribute his book or work due to popularity and in return would give the author the reward that he will reap from his hard work. The main point is, the publicist markets the work of an author to the world.

There are some more points in hiring a publicist but those are the most important. The most important one is the degree of relationship of partnership the author and the publicist have.
