How To Create Almost "Free" Internet Income

April 15, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 134

One of the easiest ways to create residualincome on the Internet is by creating a web site or blog, talking about stuff you like and monetizing it by putting Google AdSense ads on it. You can also add other advertising and affiliate links to increase the site's earning potential as well. This is not a "Get Rich Quick" idea, as getting the search engines to bring you visitors takes a while.

If you are starting a blog or web site primarily to monetize AdSense earnings, first select the keyword most specific to your niche. Then post good content to drive traffic to your site.Your content will be what the search engines use to bring visitors to your site.

I would suggest not running to Google to get signed up with their AdSense program and putting ads on your pages until you have your site up for a few weeks or so. During this period, put new content on your site at a fairly frequent pace, like once a day or once every few days. Do not replace older content, but systematically add new content or posts to what is already there.

You can get your site's content many different ways. If you know a lot about your topic or niche, then just write about it. This is absolutely the best way. If you don't, then there are many ways to get content. You can go to and pay someone five bucks to write an article, or you can go to many of the fine article directories out there to get content. There are even article subscription services you can use. So content for your site should not be a big problem.

If you choose to use content from other sources other than content you write yourself we need to discuss the use ofduplicate content on your site. There is a lot of talk about the search engines punishing sites that serve up duplicate content, and I'm not going to get into that. I will say this, and then move on. If there are a bunch of sites out there that have the same content as you, then you can not expect the search engines to push your site up in the rankings above them. After all, they have been around longer than you. So if you decide to get content from any other source besides writing your own, including Fiverr, change it up a little by moving some wording or sentences around and change some of the wording a bit so your content is unique. Enough said.

Okay, once you have your site up and running and you are updating your site with your original content for a while, it's time to place your ads on your blog. I'm not going to go into the mechanics of doing this other than to say you will need to open an AdSense account with Google, if you don't already have one, and get some ad code to put on your pages. How this is done is outside the scope of this article.

The placement of your ads are important. There are particular places on the page that tend to work better than others on your pages. Also the size, color and style tend to make a difference as well. A lot of money has been spent to locate these places and the results of these studies have found that there is a logical "heat map" for each page. This heat map tends to run along with how people read. So if your visitors read left to right from top to bottom, the heat map will differ from those that read from right to left and so forth. They also have shown that the best positions and style of the ads will vary from over time and even between niches, so experiment with them to see where the best place is for you.

Getting traffic to your site is absolutely the biggest problem that one faces with starting a blog site. There are literally thousands of different opinions on this one subject with many times that spent in dollars to get eyeballs on your content. The pay options such as Google AdWords, and Microsoft Ads are one way along with many others such as Solo Ad mailings and even are one way to go. But there are many "free" ways as well.

One "free" way to get visitors is called SEO. It stands for Search Engine Optimization and in fact, should be done on your site whether or not you use pay or free ways to get traffic. I will say this about using pay vs free to get traffic to your site. Using pay to get traffic to your site is a great way to supercharge your site and begin to get visitors, but do not over look the free options as this is all you have left after you quit paying for your traffic. And depending on who you talk to, paying for traffic does not make your page rank go any higher.

You may need to look at other articles on generating free traffic, but free traffic can be had by posting in different forums in your niche. Writing articles and posting them on different article sites is another. You can also go to other peoples pages about your topic and leave comments. Just be sure you add value with your comments. If the site owner thinks your comment is spammy, they may just delete it instead of allowing it to be posted.

If you follow these tips and experiment with your site enough, you should begin to get enough visitors clicking your ads to begin to enjoy an extra income stream flowing into your pockets.

Have fun and remember after you get your site going well. Lather, Rinse and Repeat.
