10 Places Where You Can Get Tools To Spice Up Your Blog

June 13, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 162

Visual appeal is one of the things that attract people to any blog or website. Apart from delivering unique quality content, you need to have a blog that is aesthetic and has basic accessories. Everybody loves to visit a place that looks professional and is easily navigated.

In building your blog therefore, you must have it at the back of your mind that you are going to be visited daily by a lot of people. The human traffic might be sparse at the outset, but with time it grows to a very heavy one. Creating a site that would retain each visitor should therefore be paramount.

You may not be a professional web designer or blog builder; and you may not have the resources to contract a professional designer to do the job for you. But there are places online where you can get tools that can help you design a website or blog that looks professional and clean.

Some of the basic things for a very nice looking site include templates, widgets, graphics, forms, plug-ins, etc. You don't need to have knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, PHP or other forms of coding before you can use them. They are already specially made by professionals and all you need do is apply them where you need them.

You can get your quality and customizable templates from the following sites:

1. Mybloggertricks: This is one of my frequently visited sites. The site offers you quality templates like "Tanzanite, Cute Box, Buster" etc. Apart from templates, you also get nice icons, widgets, buttons, animated banners, etc for free. The owner of the site takes personal pain to answer every question his subscribers have got. The blog is updated everyday to keep you abreast of the latest in the blogging industry.

2. Allblogtools: This is one other place I love because of the quality and variety of templates available here. You can get templates with one, two, three, four columns, etc. There are also available blogging tutorials from which you can learn some blogging tricks.

3. Stunningmesh: Stunningmesh also has quality templates and other widgets and web design tutorials to help you out. You can also get WordPress themes and all kinds of tutorials ranging from coding to Photoshop, CSS, Corel draw, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc and other freebies.

4. Smashingmagazine: this is a very rich site where you can get several tools for your blog as well. Here you get both free and paid tools like Coding (CSS, JQuery, Javascript, wordpress essentials, mastering WordPress); web design, freelancing, e-books, etc. One free e-book that is very useful especially for newbies is the "Best articles from 2006-2011".

5. WordPress: If your desire is to write under the WordPress blog, you can get special themes for your writing no matter what area you have chosen. You also get special plugins to enable you give a professional touch to your blog.

6. Bestbloggertemplates: they have got a variety of nice blogger templates (one, two, three and four columns). They also have free premium templates which you can use. Tutorials and other blogger tricks are all available for you as a beginner.

Contact Forms You may want to add contact forms to your site to enable your visitors and readers get in touch with you and also minimize spamming. This you can do by getting some HTML codes which you can add to your "Contact us" page to generate a form for your users to fill out each time they want to reach you. You can get free ones and the hosting site simply processes your form each time someone drops a message and sends the message to your mailbox. Some of the sites you can use include:

7. Foxyform: Here you can design a contact form using the template provided. After filling out the required areas, you will be provided with a HTML code which you place on your "Contact Us" page, using your HTML editor. I have been using the form for my blogs for sometime now and it is really working fine.

8. 123Contactform: You can also use this service to generate a free contact form for your blog and let your visitor contact you without having to fill your personal mailbox with lots of spam letters.

9. Mycontactform: Just like the two sites mentioned earlier, Mycontactform is also a good place to get free form for your blog and make it look a bit professional.

If you are interested in having the Search Engines' robot crawl and index your site, then you need to generate a Sitemap for them. A sitemap is just like the compass that shows the search engines' robots how to navigate your site successfully. It is not only the robots that need your Sitemap, humans also need it. It simply makes it possible for people and search engines' spiders to easily find their way through your blog even if there is nobody to guide them.

10. Buka-Rahasia: This site has helped me solve the problem of my sitemap especially when the initial one I got from another site received a warning that the site was a source of malware distribution. You can get a Sitemap generating code for your site and simply paste it in your "Sitemap" page, using the HTML editor the same way you created the contact form.

Now you can really have a beautiful blog complete with a nice template, widgets, plugins, contact form and a Sitemap. All that is required of you is to visit the above-listed sites for what you need to make a professional looking site.
