Tourist Attractions in Tasmania

February 05, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 146

Named after the Dutch Explorer Abel Tasman, Tasmania is now home to over half a million people in the South East part of Australia. Home to the some of the world's tallest and rarest trees, it is a place of natural beauty; with rising mountainous peaks, sumptuous rainforests and bush land, secluded bays and golden sand beaches. The Island state located to the South of Melbourne is home to three of the world's largest carnivorous marsupials, including the Tasmanian Devil. Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, where many inspiring examples of classic and modern bed and breakfasts offer weary tourists an affordable and luxurious place to base themselves when visiting the region. Being an island, the entire state is dotted with harbours, jetties and warehouses, grouped around the major waterfront areas.

There is a wide range of bed and breakfast accommodation options in Tasmania, both in and beyond the main capital of Hobart. Whether you are after a central city location for a metropolitan experience or a retreat in an area of scenic beauty this unique location offers a diverse range of attractions and activities, from the sedate to the more adventurous. Having extensive coastlines, Tasmania is famous for its range of pristine coastal environment and the range of water sport activities available. From sailing and cruises to fishing and diving charters, and whether your preference is for the open oceans or freshwater rivers, Tasmania has it all. The Gordon River, which flows through a World Heritage Area, offers great fresh water fishing and kayaking for the more active visitors.

If you want to combine the natural beauty of Tasmania with your passion for classic cars, there are a number of tour operators that will provide personalised tours of Hobart in a classic convertible Ford Mustang vehicle, or perhaps a Rolls Royce would take your fancy. These tour operators develop customized tours of Hobart and the wider Tasmania region, with options in duration for half day to multiple days.

Cradle Mountain is well trafficked with tourists, both domestic and international, who visit the region for its spectacular canyons. There are several canyon tour companies who guide tourists through two different canyons, called Dove and Lost World Canyon. Dove Canyon is renown for its amazing waterfalls, which is the backdrop for adventure activities including jumps, slides and abseiling. Highlighting the beauty of the upper sections of the Dove River, the Lost World Canyon is suited to those who would like to soak in the sights and natural beauty, walking on the boardwalk and leisurely floating down calm sections of the river.

The Australian Bed & Breakfast Book is Australia's most popular B and B accommodation guide. It lists more B & B accommodation than any other publication in Australia (AU). Whether you choose to stay at a homestay, farmstay, cottage, holiday home or small luxury hotel accommodation you will find our hosts offer superior hospitality. Bed & Breakfast Australia.
