How Families Can Save Money at a Fast Food or BBQ Restaurant

July 06, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 246

The recent recession hit many people hard and it may be years before the economy completely recovers. In the meantime, consumers are looking for ways to save money. Many families have already given up so much that they feel like castaways. The good news is that they do not need to eliminate the budget for dining out. Whether they prefer a fast food or a smoked BBQ restaurant, families can enjoy a delicious meal without emptying their wallets.

Coupons are a free way to save money and they are available online, in newspaper supplements, and in the mail. Taking a few minutes to clip coupons and redeem them can save big bucks. More restaurants are reflecting the savings as a separate line item on the receipt, providing a savings snapshot. A loyalty program is a similar concept, offering customers discounts based on repeat business. The program is usually free to join and discounts are easy to redeem.

Social media has literally brought discounts to our fingertips. By becoming a fan or providing a "like" on Facebook, consumers can access dining coupons. Some restaurants tweet limited time offers designed to get customers through their doors. Customers can also take surveys and write reviews to earn discounts for an upcoming visit.

Customers who do not have time for these options can take solace in the combo meal. This great option includes an entrée, one or more side items, and a drink for less than the individual cost. Restaurants make things easier on customers by creating different combo meal options. Customers spend less time making decisions and more time enjoying the delicious food. Adding a toy to a combo meal for a child leads to good behavior for the rest of the day.

The hungriest diners love the fact that they can save money by purchasing in bulk. The entire family can enjoy chicken, ribs, or other delicacies, cooked to their liking. With a few generously-sized side dishes, beverages, and a dessert, this is the meal of champions. Diners can take home leftovers to enjoy at work or school the next day, saving money and eliminating the need to prepare another meal.

Catering is a money-saving option for the largest groups. Workers can pool their money and place a catering order that will feed the whole office. Catering is often used for parties but there is no reason it cannot be an everyday occurrence. Diners will have the opportunity to sample a variety of food without paying full price. They may even discover a new favorite item from the menu.

With so many ways to save money when dining at a fast food or BBQ restaurant, it is surprising that anyone is paying full price. We are in for a long period of economic recovery and restaurants are making the financial pinch less painful for diners. Hopefully, they will continue to offer excellent deals on the most convenient food in town. As long as they do, customers will continue entering their doors in droves.
