New Aerodynamic Design - Vertical Stabilizer Cone Shaped Orifices Allowing Prop Torque Pass-Through

Propeller driven aircraft which have the engine in the front notoriously have a challenging problem with torque slipstream airflows during critical phases of the flight such as takeoff, or slow flight under high power settings. This can make things quite dangerous, and the lack of control means that an accident is just waiting to happen.

What if we could solve this problem and prevent it from occurring altogether, as think in the future we can solve this dilemma by making the vertical and horizontal stabilizers out of morphable materials. If you have a few moments, and are interested in aerospace design I'd like to share this idea with you.

What if a vertical stabilizer for instance had holes on one side of the vertical stabilizer which was being bombarded by this torque slipstream, and on the other side the holes were larger? In this case the air would be sucked through the holes as a pass-through. As the plane got up to speed the holes could close, therefore not disrupting the airflow.

It should be very easy to create vertical stabilizers and horizontal stabilizers which allowed for these pass-throughs without many movable parts, as new morphing materials come about. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's time to challenge our next generation of aerospace designers to start using some of these materials and their material properties to solve some of the age-old challenges we have in aviation.

There are just far too many accidents in general aviation, military aviation, and even in commercial aviation having to do with this challenge. As someone who reads the NTSB reports from the FAA, I can tell you that there are always numerous accidents of large single engine aircraft that get behind the power curve and as the pilot to quickly adds power - the aircraft starts to roll and flip over at low speeds. None of those accidents really have to happen, especially now with the new materials of today. We can solve those problems.

How much would it cost you ask? Well, since these new materials are lighter, stronger, and therefore require less rib structure, they may not be any more expensive to manufacture than what we are currently already doing. Therefore, this new invention idea is actually viable, whereas in the past it wouldn't have been. Thus, I would ask that you please consider all this, perhaps put your pencil to the sketchpad, and take some of these ideas and test them in the wind tunnel, and then bring them to fruition in the aircraft manufacturing sector.
