Patricia M. Brown, M.Ed.: I have received degrees in the fields of Teacher of the Handicapped, Teacher of the Visually Impaired & Blind and a Master's -Learning Disabilites Teacher Consultant.

I spent part of my career as a classroom teacher improving quality of life, communication skills/technology and vocational skill development of the Multiply Impaired student. The majority of my career was in the field of visual impairment and blindness of children birth-21 years of age.

As an itinerant teacher I visited families & schools in order to provide education in the area of low vision and blindness. Specifically, evaluation and provision of functional vision assessments which incorporated general recommendations to maximize vision use in the home and educational setting, environmental modfications and specialized materials. Specific emphasis on the blind/braille student, specialized accomodations, braille lessons, consultation with parents/teachers as related to student integration into the regular education setting. Provided instruction in the use of the Braille Note, emossing technology and related technology for the blind student.

Notable contributions during career included authoring the statewide used functional vision assessment form for infants/toddlers and the multiply impaired student and co-authoring a Modifications for standardized tests for the visually impaired/blind student.

Recently I have started my own Braille embossing company- Braille This, LLC.
