Neil Findlay

Neil with his wife & best friend Marlene were the founders and directors of Findlay Bulk Services, which specialized in the road transport of bulk raw materials throughout Eastern Australia for over 30 years, interfacing with rail and sea transport, until the company was sold in February 2007.

Findlay Bulk Services was an industry leader:

FBS was one of the first companies in Australia [No 24] to be accredited to the National 'TruckSafe' program.

Was certified to National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme standards of Maintenance & Mass Management.

Certified participant in the Greenhouse Challenge program.

First company in Australia to have staff complete 'Certificate 3 in road Transport'.

Then was one of the first to complete 'Certificate 4 in Transport operations'.

One of the first to link all trucks to base by satellite to manage and audit operations.

One of the first to place operational and scheduling systems online to provide staff, customers and subcontractors with real time data on vehicle and product movements, and accounting information.

Won Queensland State Training Awards for employers up to 100 staff, at both Regional and State level, in consecutive years.

Won Australian National Training Awards in the Transport & Distribution sector.

Won the Global Insurance 'National Excellence in Road Transport Awards' three times.

Won Australian National Quarantine Awards for 2003.

Included in the 'Queensland 400' list of top private businesses in 2004, 2005 & 2006.

Served on the boards of NatRoad, the Australian Trucking Association, and chaired the board of the National TruckSafe Industry Accreditation program.

Neil is currently:

An active writer and speaker at forums within Australia and overseas.

An active residential property investor.

A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. Managing Director of Used Trailers which specializes in online marketing of trailers, including new & used, recreational & commercial.

Deputy chair of the National Transport Commission's Performance Based Standards Review Panel.

Director of Circadian Australia, who work with business and organizations to identify and mitigate fatigue risk in their workforce.

Chair of the Queensland Transport Logistics Council.

Working with a number of Not for Profit organizations and has travelled extensively into the third world in this capacity.
