I currently run a marketing consultancy called Business Development Advisors based near Guildford in Surrey, UK. We work with small business owners who want to grow their business but don't have the time, inclination or knowledge to do it themselves. We grow businesses by doing hard hitting on line and off line marketing for them in order to attract new customers, get increased revenue from existing customers and ensure that existing customers stay loyal. I set up the business in 2005, since when we have worked with businesses in almost all business sectors. The sector is not important. Marketing principals are universal. Before that I was head of marketing for a retail pharmacy business. While the business turned over just short of £1 billion the objective of finding and retaining customers was just as important to a large business as it is to small businesses. Before that I was a director of a marketing and communications agency. We worked for large blue chip UK clients focusing predominantly on their promotional marketing and communication strategies. I studied English literature at Newcastle University as writing has always been one of my key skills I have written and published a book "10 Essential Business Growth Strategies" which outlines 10 key marketing strategies that small businesses need to get to grips with in order to be successful.
