William G. Perry, Ph.D.

Dr. William Perry is a professor in the University of North Carolina System, an information security specialist and is associated with Alliant Digital Services.

Perry has written a number of books and articles. He is the recipient of the Global Teaching Excellence Award and was twice awarded the Board of Governor's Innovative Teaching Award from in University of North Carolina system. He has taught computer networking, systems analysis and design and information systems security.

Dr. Perry is a former military officer and also has experience in counterintelligence, risk analysis, and threat assessment. Dr. Perry has presented at a number of national conferences on the topic of information warfare. Perry has coordinated and participated in various security-related workshops involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency and U.S. State Department.

Dr. Perry also served as editor on two books related to the intelligence community and has made national presentations on protecting critical infrastructure.

Perry has studied Russian and Chinese information warfare and completed the National Security Agency's course on Information Security Assessment Methodology. Dr. Perry serves as an Associate Research Fellow for the DoD and has been a contractor with the Director of National Intelligence.

Dr. Perry is a founding member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Information Assurance & Intelligent Multimedia-Mobile Communications and also provided input in establishing the technical committee's initial objectives. Perry is also an Academic Council Member for the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C.
