Vanessa J Alexander has been teaching Spanish for 12 years both face-to-face and live over the internet. While living in Spain she was also a translator and interpreter and continues to work in this capacity for Language Empire in the UK.

Alexander attended the French Institute in London and took exams for overseas students from the Sorbonne University in Paris, while simultaneously studying Spanish.

For many years she worked in the film industry, a highlight of which was her role as the International Publicity Co-ordinator on Bernardo Bertolucci's Oscar-winning film The Last Emperor.

Alexander then moved into corporate work focused on change communications on behalf of a world-wide energy sector employer, developing significant experience of the oil and gas industry and its changing dynamics.

She became an acknowledged freelance journalist, authoring many pieces for the international energy press, contributed to Harvard Business Review, and developed into a Voice Over artist for clients in retail, manufacturing and energy.

1999 saw a move to Spain to seek business opportunities in the thriving tourist and construction industries on the South Coast, and a natural lead into the complex legal industry as the boom continued. She interpreted in Notaries' and Lawyers' offices, as well as translating interviews with Oscar nominees for a quality magazine.

Immersed in the culture of Spain itself and the evolving ex-pat community, Alexander focused on bespoke Spanish tuition, catering for business people and those wishing to learn or improve their Spanish. Lessons were taught either one-to-one, in couples or small groups, or live via the Internet.

Now based in Cheltenham, UK, Vanessa Alexander continues to teach Spanish, writes online articles on a variety of topics, and has resumed her Voice Over work.
