How To Get Your Traffic

February 24, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 128

"Sixty-one percent of adults say they still find websites using natural search results." - Barb Cote of Fifth Gear Analytics

So when their search leads them to your website you want to be fully prepared to convert them from undecided to credit card ready.

Before you get started on how to convert you might want to have the potential customers (traffic) to convert, if you haven't got any here is a recipe to follow;

Ways to Get Traffic

First inform people about your website. Use word of mouth by telling those closest to you like close relatives, family and friends. Next, you can have laminated business cards made up for next to nothing or do it yourself for free. Write articles and provide a link in the bio or resource box back to your website. While commenting on another person's website be sure to leave a comment that adds value. For example compliment or in cases where you disagree with the author tastefully say so. When you submit double check for spelling errors and be sure the comment is not the length of a novel. Have your website address within your emails that you send out to potential customers.

SEO Defined

SEO is short for search engine optimization. It is the way you increase the amount of visitors to your website. The more visitors you receive the higher your website ranks with the search engines. This is referred to as SERP (search engine page rank). You are responsible for SERP. You must carefully research what tools are necessary to achieve the rank you are looking for. I assume it's number one. Here are your tools;

Market research-This is like finding the right recipe for a killer meal to keep your potential man coming over for dinner. Find keywords that have the right measure of traffic, commercial value, and competition.

Build a website-you can't receive visitors to your home if you are homeless.

Quality content-Keep your keywords targeting your content. Be sure the content is compelling and doesn't contradict itself. One evening I was extremely tired while writing an article. I had the audacity to submit it and wonder why it was rejected, until I read it again. That article read like my brain went on vacation. So be sure your rested before sitting down to your keyboard.

Article submission-You want to try and submit at least 3 articles a day. Don't worry this gets easier and as you mature in the business your going to desire to outsource your article writing. Getting others to write for you makes life so much less difficult.

Landing page-Create a landing page. A landing page is also known as as a squeeze page. This page simply explains more about your product provided you have one. Using a landing page usually increases the conversion rate of your visitors from visitor to consumer. It also helps you target their desires.

Patience-Give the search engines and people time to locate your website, provided you follow the recipe given to you in this article.
