Want a Natural Remedy for Basal Joint Arthritis?

April 11, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 352

More than ever people are looking for natural ways to treat disorders such as arthritis. If you're like me and you prefer to avoid medication wearing a pair of gloves for arthritis could be your answer. Gripping and pinching tends to aggravate the symptoms of basal joint arthritis but I have found it nearly impossible to do anything worthwhile without the use of my thumb and forefinger.

I have been touch typing for years and over time I have found it increasingly challenging to use the keyboard and the computer mouse due to pain in the heel of my right hand. The throbbing became almost insufferable and it began to worsen when I was resting. My caring mom presented me with a pair of arthritis gloves. Not only did they help relieve my pain, they gave me the support I needed to carry on working and were comfortable enough to wear throughout the day and night. The pain has since subsided but nonetheless I slip on a pair when spending lengthy periods at the computer because they help to keep my fingers nimble and save my hands from feeling stiff and fatigued at the end of a day's work.

Gloves for arthritis use compression and with the right amount of pressure and support it's likely you too will be able to carry out your daily activities with limited disruption. Since these types of gloves tend to be worn for long periods it's important to make sure they fit correctly. The gloves you purchase should be close-fitting and apply the right amount of compression to the area between the thumb and the wrist so you receive the pressure you need to relieve your basal joint arthritis. Make sure the gloves are not too tight as this could cause tingling and tenderness. If you suffer from allergies choose gloves that are soft and made from material that won't cause skin irritation. Compression gloves like mine are made from silky material that is breathable so your hands will be kept dry and comfortable. Arthritis gloves that use far-infrared technology are made from premium quality cotton embedded with bio-ceramic fiber; this helps avoid overheating or itchiness from prolonged use.

If you type, sew, or want to touch and feel with your fingertips, choose fingerless gloves for arthritis as they allow the freedom you need. If basal joint arthritis has left you with a loss of pinch, you may find full-finger gloves with a textured finish provide more grip and less slip when you grab hold of things like tea and coffee cups.
