Fine Control Over Your Clothes Cleaning With Washer-Dryer Combos

February 27, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 165

A washer-dryer combo provides the complete dirty to clean functionality that many a person bent over a washboard or riverside rocks, scrubbing endlessly at soiled laundry, no doubt vaguely wished for. With one of these machines, you can throw a load of laundry into the tub, set the controls, and stand back to let the machine do its work.

Depending on the settings that you have chosen for the cycle, the machine will wash and rinse your clothing with the appropriate temperature of water, level of suds, and rotation speed for the type of cloth that the garments are fashioned from. Whether a direct wash, followed by a single robust rinse, is what is needed to clean tough work garb, or a series of lighter washes and rinses for more delicate items, is required, the machine will require it.

You will not need to drag soggy, dripping masses of wet clothing, heavy with water, out of the washer to transfer them to a dryer or a clothesline, either. Instead, the machine will spin as much water out of the clothing as possible, then begin a thorough dry cycle, again of the appropriate length and temperature.

In short, using washer-dryer combos gives you the ability to close the machine's loading door on a tangle of dirty, soiled clothing, and open it a couple of hours later to find clean, dry clothing inside, ready for the hanger or the bureau drawer. This extreme convenience is one of the primary attractions of these devices for many purchasers. The highly sophisticated controls found on modern models make these benefits possible.

Detailed control over the washing and drying cycle

If you are planning to buy a washer-dryer combo for your home, you may want to consider the specifics of the control panel and what it offers you, and choose the model you finally decide on partly by the flexibility and range of function that it provides.

A full suite of sensors should be included in the machine's design if it is to carry out mostly automated washing of the type described above. The better the machine is able to analyze what is going in the washing and drying drum, the better it will be able to match the wash cycle to the specific garments you are cleaning.

The most useful are thermostats to ensure that your garb is not being subjected to temperatures (too hot or too cold) that might damage its fabric, water and suds level sensors, and a moisture sensor to switch off the drying cycle when the clothing is actually dry, rather than running to the end of a preset timed period and potentially using extra electricity unnecessarily.
