Be Who You Want

In life we all have choices to make and each choice has a consequence. Where you are today is a consequence of your past choices. The question is, where do you want to be tomorrow? I heard, and truly believe, you are not your past, you are what you decide to be in this moment. If you do not like your current situation, simply change it! It is a matter of deciding what your perspective will be from this point on, no matter what it was in the past.

We all have our sad stories, our traumatic past experiences, our failures... Remember that has nothing to do with who you really are! You are who and what you want from the moment you decide it. Do yourself a favor, take a moment to ask yourself a few questions. First ask yourself, am I happy? If the answer is an absolute "YES!" keep doing what you're doing, it works for you. If the answer is "yes, but..." or "no" I recommend asking yourself the next question. Why am I unhappy? Sit and write out all of the things in your life that make you feel bad in any way. Now this is important! Take the list of things that are making you unhappy and for each one write its opposite.

Example, if you wrote, I do not have time to be with the people I love. In your new list you will write something like, I have time to enjoy with the people I love. Do this for every negative point on your list, then tear the negative list and throw it out. Tell yourself that's your old life your throwing away and that the new list is your new life. Now remember, you are not your past, so let it all go! Put the new list where you could read it every day, make copies so you have it with you at all times.

By knowing what you want and focusing on it, opportunities will come your way to make it happen. Keep your mind open to the possibilities, do not be afraid to try new things. Enjoy your process and you will love the outcome. The choices you make today will shape your present and future. Love what you do, do what you love and you will see everything fall into place, exactly how you want them. Remember, clear your mind of any past unwanted situations and plant new "wanted" experiences. Think of them every day and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.
