The Secret to Clear Skin and The Myths Behind Acne Bacteria and Acne

April 17, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 108

We all have a certain amount of resident acne bacteria that plays a necessary role on our skin. Like similar forms of life, it fights for its survival to sustain life. We have been taught for sometime by western medicine that these life forms are the causative agent of the acne process. Though, recent study has shown that not only are they not solely responsible for the onset of acne, but that they are in fact critical to maintaining and achieving a healthy balance in our skin.

This type of bacteria is non-transferable and regardless of whether or not someone suffers from acne, we all carry the same form of bacteria. For example, consider the bacteria that live in our mouths and throat. Everyone has these bacteria, though they do not always result in tonsillitis. The underlying reason for this is that for conditions such as acne and tonsillitis to exist, there must first be created a specific condition or necessary environment for the bacteria to take advantage.

It is noteworthy to mention then, that resident bacterium like that of acne bacteria will remain in harmony with the human body while acting in defense of the colonization of other harmful bacteria. Furthermore, acne bacteria will further nourish themselves via our sweat and sebaceous glands in order to aid and support our skin.

The acne environment forms when oil secretions are in excess to the surface of the skin, generally initiated through a radical shift by our hormones creating an imbalance. This imbalance could present itself in any number of ways to mainly include that of stress or the lack of important enzymes.

As the excess oil interacts with blood toxins also secreted to the skin, another form of acne bacteria begins to attack the hair follicles. Through the utilization of enzymes, the harmful acne bacterium feeds on the oil and begins to multiply as free radicals are released from the blood stream causing skin irritation. As a result, the body will mount a response in an effort to defend itself in the form of white and red blood cells which in turn leads to swelling and inflammation that yield typical acne-like symptoms such as pustules, whiteheads, and nodules.

The common remedy is often in the form of antibiotics to eliminate the bacteria. Though, as we are finding out, the use of antibiotics for acne is counter-productive in the sense that they disrupt the natural balance of harmful acne bacteria while completely abolishing the resident bacteria in the process. Without the resident bacteria in place, there would be no buffer for the colonization of the invading bacteria as mentioned. Antibiotic administration has also proven to be ineffective in that most of the harmful bacteria has become antibiotic resistant while it does nothing to prevent the environment that causes them to multiply in the first place.

The most effective way to prevent acne is to control the acne environment that takes place. By being able to neutralize the bacteria multiplication from excess oil production and blood toxin levels, you can effectively control the measure to which acne affects the individual. Stopping acne means controlling oil secretion, accumulated toxin levels in the body, and ultimately being able to manipulate the nutritional, hormonal, psychological and environmental triggers that exist.

The secret to clear skin is therefore, controlling the factors that determine the acne environment while monitoring an optimum balance for acne bacteria.
