Removing Acne Scars and Redness - Practical Tips You Can Use

June 09, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 232

Removing acne scars isn't (I'll admit) the easiest thing in the world to do. That said, with a strong attitude, and a willingness to actually give something a go and to experiment, removing acne scars can be done. Redness can also be treated.

Treating redness is best done with lemon juice. Lemon juice is a very effective natural bleach and it's most effective on redish skin. It's also good at reducing current acne outbreaks and if you find that your skin is very acne prone or very scarred then lemon juice is a very effective method for helping that. Simply squeeze out the juice of a lemon and add a few drops of water (just to dilute the juice so it isn't too strong). Use a finger or a cotton bud and rub it into the skin. It will sting! Lemons are very acidic so it will sting a bit. I recommend that you do a spot test before you go the full hog with it - this will ensure that you don't have any negative outbreaks to it. You can also use limes if you'd rather be different.

Scarring can be reduced in a number of ways. I'd suggest toning the skin with something like apple cider vinegar as a start. The vinegar helps to smooth and tone the skin, helps to clear acne and reduce future outbreaks. Exfoliation is also a vital element to treat scarring. Use a rough face cloth or loofah sponge to exfoliate the skin every day. You can also use something like baking soda as a facial scrub - mix a teaspoon or two with a drop of water and massage it in to the skin well. Baking soda is quite effective really - and it's dirt cheap so there's no reason why you shouldn't give it a good testing!

Everyone's different, so what works for me and others might not work as well for you. You need to be consistent with your treatments and that'll have the greatest impact of all. If you find that your skin isn't responding to a certain product (and you can be honest with yourself and say you've actually given the product/treatment a fair go) then move on, try something else. Like I said at the beginning of this article - it's not necessarily easy to reduce the appearance of acne scarring. But it can be done with commitment. Go on - I know you can do it!
