Drink Your Adult Acne Away

April 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 194

Acne is generally associated with raging teenage hormones. Nevertheless, adult acne has also risen considerably in the past decades. Epidemiological research shows a steady growth in the number of adults, ranging from the age group of the late 20s, 30s, and 40s and so on that are affected by adult acne.

The exact causes of adult acne are unknown, though most factors that affect an acne flare have been identified. Hormonal imbalance, bad diet, excessive stress and use of harmful cosmetics, dirt build up in skin, poor hygiene and sanitation and accumulation of resistant types of bacteria are the causes generally associated to adult acne.

When oil accumulates in the pores and follicles of the skin and traps dirt and bacteria, blackheads are formed. All blackheads do not turn into pimples, but inflammation of blackheads lead to pustules and white heads, which are more commonly referred to as zit or pimple.

These pustules often leave scars on breaking and are often very painful and distressing. Since adult acne is such a common skin disorder among adults, with about 50% of women and 25% of men suffering from it, counters are jam-packed with anti acne treatments and acne solutions that guarantee you better skin in say a month.

But what they don't tell you is that, most of these products often cause more harm than good because of the harsh chemicals used in them. But if you want a more natural approach to treating acne, there are ways out. Some simple natural remedies and precautions can help you not only overcome but also prevent adult acne.

The most basic thing that you can do to reduce acne is drink lots of water. Water helps to flush your skin of all its collected and accumulated impurities. It moistens your skin so that the pores get unclogged and it rids your skin of excessive oil and toxins that cause fungal infections and bacteria.

And apart from this, water also acts as a stress reliever. It relaxes the body and helps you sleep better. Dehydration often leads to oily T - zones that can develop acne, while cheeks remain dry. Drinking at most ten glasses of water every day is thus very important to keep acne at bay. Avoiding diuretics such as alcohol, tea, coffee etc also helps to retain water in the body.

Aloe Vera Juice

Many naturally occurring substances can be used to avoid and reduce acne without leaving any side effects. Aloe Vera juice is one of them. Acne is a result of inflamed hair follicles or sebaceous glands. Aloe Vera juice soothes the skin and reduces the inflammation by cooling the irritation.

Using aloe vera on scars can help treat them since aloe vera juice helps in skin regeneration. You can also use aloe vera gel for spot treatment as the juice settles in the affected areas and reduces inflammation, pain and redness.

Tea Tree Oil

Another substance that helps reduce acne is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has been medically proven to reduce and treat acne. It is an active substance in most topical acne medications, along with aloe vera. You can use homemade astringents, masks or gels made of tea tree oil.

It not only contains inflammation and redness, but also helps reducing scars. The anti oxidants present in tea tree oil help nourish skin without any side effects and added expenses whatsoever. Tea is generally a cure for acne.

However, tea tree oil is generally used for external use only. It can be also taken orally, only with the amount of dosage as prescribed by a dermatologist to you depending on the severity of your acne condition.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile Tea is an extract from the chamomile flower where the finest of the ones are found from the Nile River Valley of Egypt. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties.

This herbal tea has been used in ancient Egypt to cure many ailments and one of them is to erase away acne and other skin blemishes such as blackheads and scars.

You can drink chamomile tea along with red tea to further boosts its effectiveness in stopping acne as it is found to be particularly therapeutic.

With the right amount of dosage, drink about two to three cups of it each day. You can add lemon and honey to it too as it will yield benefits for your skin health.

Tava Tea Blend

Various tea blends can be used for treating acne. Tava tea blend is a very reliable and natural source of anti acne treatment. It causes no harm to the skin, and is now being used in revolutionary new products that use natural products to fight acne. Drinking tava tea also helps in cleansing the inside.

Tava Tea uses organically grown, whole Sencha, Wuyi Cliff Oolong and Puerh tealeaves. These rare tealeaves contain health enhancing properties and thus combining them makes it a very powerful blend of tea.

Rooibos Tea

Another form of tea that helps fight adult acne is rooibos tea. Rooibus tea is packed with antioxidants that leave your skin glowing and radiant as well as clear. Rooibus tea is easily available and is also known by the name of red bush tea. It has anti inflammatory properties that can do wonders to cure acne. It has the added advantage of being free of any stimulants such as caffeine, unlike green tea.

Pomegranate Juice

You can also soothe your acne by using pomegranate juice on the inflamed areas. The anti oxidants in pomegranate juice help reduce free radicals that are often the root cause of acne. It cleanses the body from inside and is full of vital vitamins that help avoid acne by keeping the body healthy.

These are some of the natural solutions that you can try for acne. A combination of these, along with a healthy lifestyle, proper diet, proper rest and relaxation and better cleanliness will help you get rid of unwanted acne very easily so that you can regain your beauty and youth as well as confidence.
