Why Use An Accountant?

April 20, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 194

It is often uttered, from those in a small business, that an accountant is not something they can have. They think that it would be too expensive, that their books are not complicated enough or simply that they want to do it themselves.

Accountants are so much more than someone who cleans up your paperwork and keeps the tax man off your back by filling in the necessary documentation. They save you time, valuable time that can be spent on doing what it is you do best. Not struggling along and resenting the mounting paperwork. An accountant could save you money. Often saving you more through your books than their fee even commands. Finally, an good accountant will help you grow your business. With this in mind, can you afford not to have one?

When doing your own books, how sure can you be that they're being done correctly? There's few things more demoralising than spending hours completing your paperwork, only for them not to be in the correct order and punishment from the relevant authorities loom. Not to mention getting everything on time. If it's not in on time or is incorrect, you could have HMRC delving deeper and going over everything with a fine tooth comb. With an accountant, this is all taken care of, freeing your mind of the worry and allowing it to focus on the things you want to be focussing on.

Lets face it, you're looking to minimise your tax bill. Everyone is. A good accountant is well versed in this, so regardless of how competently you can do your own books you're unlikely able to take advantage at every opportunity that you should. When tax laws change, accountants are at the forefront and will pass those benefits and savings on to you as and when they happen.

As your accountant, they will be on hand to give the most sound business advice known. Who else experiences more businesses of all types and sizes books? They have a unique insight into how businesses work and can advise you accordingly. Particularly in the early stages where every penny and decision counts.

It doesn't matter how small or insignificant you think that you are. We all have dreams and aspirations to grow. A good accountant for all the reasons above will help you do this. Forget about HMRC, tax returns, VAT or even payroll. Get on with providing customers with the service that you do best.

....and let accountants get on with doing theirs.
